Jan Joosten (born 17 May 1959, in Ekeren, Belgium) is a Biblical scholar. Since 2014, he has been Regius Professor of Hebrew at the University of Oxford. He was previously Professor of the Old Testament at the University of Strasbourg. He is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature. Joosten finished his studies in 1981 in Brussels.
